PRE-READING SKILLS
- Reproduces sounds of speech
- Recognizes likes/ differences
- Recognizes shapes, colors, and sizes
- Can classify by categories
- Recognizes positions (e.g., up, down, side, back, front, etc. )
- Develops a sense of time (e.g., first, middle, last)
- Recognizes and can say their first and last name
- Can write their first name from memory
- Can follow print from left to write
- Can follow print from top to bottom
- Recognizes opposites
- Recognize and describe shapes
- Can phonically verbalize at least 70 percent of upper and lower case letters
- Recognize colors
- Can contribute thoughts to an experience story
- Can dictate a simple sentence caption for a picture
PRE-MATH SKILLS
- Counts orally to 20
- Reads and writes numbers 1-10
- Identifies: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, & diamond
- Can add combinations of numbers 1-5
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
- Can follow simple directions and rules
- Develop friendships and social relationships with peers and adults
- Can share information and ideas in audible, coherent, and complete sentences
- Increase ability to make appropriate choices
- Refine basic manners, safety and courtesy rules
- Can explore social relationships and roles of other family members through dramatic play
